Simple Spirituality
Simple Spirituality: You are already hearing spirit
There’s misconception that happens a lot where people tend to intellectualize spirituality. That we need to do practices a through z in order to start sensing spirit and receiving messages. This is simply not true. The main tool is silence and intention. Once you put away the complicated ideas it gets much easier to begin tapping in. We were spirit before we were human so this idea alone can begin to attune you to that spiritual energy.
Slow down, tune in, and receive.
The mind getting in the way
Many of us have been shaped into analytical people. We’ve learned to measure, question, compare, and explain. Technology has made this pattern vast. There’s always something to process, something to respond to, something to figure out.
And while that sharpness of mind is useful in many areas of life, it doesn’t translate well into spiritual awareness.
Because spirituality isn’t something you solve.
It’s something you experience.
Experience in spirituality requires you to let go.
When your mind is constantly moving—jumping from thought to thought, screen to screen—it becomes harder to notice the quieter layers of your awareness. The shifts of energy. The psychic nudges. The sense of a presence that begins to shift your auric field. These shifts become the gateway into an world of spirit. Quiet but at the same time loud once we start using that spiritual muscle.
You have to Pause
It begins with the pause. Not a complicated technique but turning everything off and allowing the breathe to become your tool.
Not forced. Not structured. Just a moment where you step out of the noise.
When this pause starts you will hear mental chatter, you may have sensations in your body, emotions, random memories will come up. But as you start to get used to the pause it becomes the instrument which tunes you into spirit.
The only thing you must do is become available to what subtle shifts start to happen. These shifts will help you to bridge the gap between your mind and spirit.
A Simple Practice to Connect to Your Higher Self
To begin connecting to your higher self one of the first things you do is place the intention. Just state I now what to connect to my higher self.
Then allow your mind to quiet by taking a few deep breaths. imagine yourself tuning into the higher self as this is a energy frequency.
Try not to control your thoughts or force this process just allow it to happen. Like a stream of water flowing down a river your higher self is already flowing. You just need to become that stream by moving into the frequency.
As you take those breaths in and out you may begin to feel subtle sensations in your forehead, a warmth in your heart or hands. Or you may feel nothing at all. All of this is just apart of the process try not to analyze what is happening but flow.
Next gently bring your awareness into your heart the center of your chest where we give and receive love.
Just rest your attention here. This is the anchor point.
The energy can be quite strong if we are naturally sensitive to energy. Become it. Become the strength and intensity you feel. It will give you healing.
As you sit here it will begin to create healing within your emotions and energy field. Now depending on what is already happening to you this may be more emotional healing or it may be spiritual. The difference is the emotional healing will release some of the emotions you are carrying while the spiritual is going to give you more energy to hold.
After you sit int he heart for a few moments then move your awareness above the head. Around 6 inches.
This change of focus will begin to connect you with your higher self. The true you and what you can receive guidance, healing and attunements from.
The higher self and then heart chakra are different frequencies. Frequencies hold a different tone. The tone for some people may feel loud, it may feel quiet. Since we are all unique we may sense this in different ways. That is what makes spirituality very special. It is something that shouldn’t become to analytical because we can end up getting in our own way.
Understanding Subtlety
This is where people start analyzing and making it more of a challenge.
Naturally we expect this kind of connection to be obvious or dramatic. Like we going to hear a audible voice, see a sign, or have some burst of energy where everything clicks. This can happen but most of the time it is subtle.
It can feel like someone who has a peaceful presence walked in the room
It can feel like our third eye is expanding and like we are wearing a helmet
It can feel like we may begin to float if we sit in the energy long
BUT sometimes… it may just feel like quiet
But that doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
That’s where people stop too early. They think it’s not working when really they’re just not used to noticing something this subtle yet.
This isn’t about forcing an experience or trying to make something happen.
It’s about learning how to notice.
Because these small shifts are easy to miss when your mind is constantly moving.
But the more you sit in it and allow this presence to become natural this is where our gifts begin to shine
Why This Feels Harder Than It Is
Technology and constant stimulation haven’t taken this connection away from you but they can make it harder to notice.
Because your attention is always being pulled outward.
And this kind of awareness doesn’t compete.
It doesn’t demand. It doesn’t interrupt. It waits.
The moment you create even a small amount of space—through silence, through observation, through simply being—you begin to sense it again.
Bringing It Into Everyday Life
This isn’t just about a quiet moment with your eyes closed.
The real shift happens in how you integrate it.
In how you move through your day.
In how you respond instead of react.
In how you begin to trust quieter, steadier forms of knowing.
Spirituality isn’t about escaping life. It’s about experiencing it with more awareness.
Coming Back to Simplicity
It’s easy to believe that something so meaningful must also be complicated.
But often, the most profound things are the simplest.
A pause.
A breath.
A moment of awareness.
That’s where it begins.
Not somewhere far away. Not something you need to earn.
Just something you remember.
Something that’s been there the entire time.
